Deaths - 2010
The following deaths occurred during the period under review.
1) Sdr. T.C. Muthaliph - Former President of Muslim United Welfare Front.
2) Sdr. Tuan Hameed - Vice President of Mattegoda Bangsa Melayu.
3) Sdr. Mass Aron - Step Mother of sdr. Faizan Mass Aron and Sister in Law of sdr. M.P.T. Mass Aron.
4) Sdri. Ossman - Beloved mother of sdr. Berty Ossman.
May Almighty Allah grant them Jennathul Firdouse.
The President and Members of the Committee of Managemant of Pertubuhan Bangsa Melayu Sri Lanka wish to convey their deepest sympathies to members of the bereaved families.
Donation of a Computer - 2010
Saudara Muhaj Hameem donated a Computer to Pertubuhan Bangsa Melayu Sri Lanka. We sincerely thank him for his kind gesture.
Estalishments of Mattegoda branch of Bangsa Melayu Sri Lanka - 2009
On a request made by the Melayu Saudaras and Saudaris of Mattegoda brach of Bangsa Melayu was established at Mattegoda on 23rd March 2009. Addressing the gathering present the President Sdr. Emran thanked the Saudaras and Saudaris of Mattegoda for inviting Bangsa Melayu to Mattegoda. He explained the aims of Bangsa Melayu and requested all Saudaras and Saudaris to propagate the use Bhasa Melayu as far as possible and also requested them to present the Malay Culture.
A Special Bayan Ceremony was held on this day. Moulavi Muzni Ameer delivered the main Bayan followed by Moulavi Mahir and Moulavi Aslam. The subjects selected by them were very popular and interesting and all those who were present especially the ladies appreciated the days program. The Bayans were followed by a discussion on religious matters and the learned Moulavis answered questions raised by the members of the audience, After the Bayan Ceremony the inaugural meeting of the branch was held and office bearers elected.
Estalishments of Maho branch of Bangsa Melayu Sri Lanka - 2009
On a request made by the Melayu Saudara and Saudaris of Maho Committee Members with their family members visited Maho on 30/31 May 2009 and established a branch of Pertubuhan Bangsa Melayu Sri Lanka in Maho. On the 1st day there was get together in the evening. The President addressing the gathering explained the purpose of the visit and thanked the Saudaras and Saudaris for inviting us to Maho. This was followed by a Bayan by Moulavi Mahir.
Therafter Saudara Emran and Saudara Pallie presented a stage show which received a big applause from all those who were present. Saudara Ronny entertained the audience with his harmonium and Malay Songs.
Dinner and the following morning Breakfast and Lunch were prepared jointly by the Saudara and Saudaris of Colombo and Maho.
On the second day there was a Bayan Ceremony by Moulavi Mahir and Moulavi Aslam followed by a discussion on religious matters and a question and answer session. The repreasentative of WAMY ( World Assembly of Muslim Youth) conducted a workshop for all the participants which was appreciated by the audience. After spending 2 enjoyable days members returned to Colombo with peasant memories. The events were sponsored by WAMY.
Launching of the Malay Calendar - 2009
The 1st ever Malay Calendar published entirely in BHASA MELAYU was launched on 19th December 2009. The concept and design was that of our President Saudara Emran.
Indonesian Independence Day - 2009
On 19th August 2009 The President and the Secretary attended the 64th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence at the Hilton Hotel.
Purchase of a Camera & Amplifier Set - 2009
Saudari Jabeer donated a sum of Rupees Thirty five thousand ( Rs. 35,000/=) for the purchase of a Camera and an Amplifier set. The Association wishes to express its sincere thanks to her.
Ramazan Festival Day - 2008
At the Invitation of The Ambassador for Indonesia in Sri Lanka saudara Emran nad saudara Razack attended the Lunch on Ramazan Festival Day on 1st October 2008.
